Thundering Waves
Happy New Year! I know I am a couple weeks late with that, but this is my first blog post of the year so I figured I'd go for it. Hopefully you have had a wonderful first 2 weeks of 2022. I am going to keep it short today with the goal of having us make some space in our day to meditate on a piece of Scripture.
I would be willing to wager that many of you made New Years Resolutions recently. How are those going? I set a few goals for the year myself. Full disclosure, some are going great! Others, are going, shall we say, less great. But that's ok. One of my goals for this year is to read through the entire Bible. I did this last year and am looking forward to doing it again this year. As a part off that process this week, I have spent time reflecting on Psalm 93. This Psalm is short but it is quite beautiful.

As a part off that process this week, I have spent time reflecting on Psalm 93. This Psalm is short but it is quite beautiful.
The psalm begins by extolling the Lord's majesty and strength. It tells us that the world is established and secure because of his strength. It tells us that God is mightier than the waves and finishes with an acknowledgement that God's statutes stand firm and holiness adorns his house forever. Like I said, its short. But. It is a really beautiful reminder of God's majesty, his power, his holiness, and his strength. It reminds us that the God who cares for us is the same God that is described in the Psalm, the one who is stronger than the waves and whose strength establishes the world.
At the bottom of this post is an audio version of the psalm. Take 2 or 3 minutes today, listen to the psalm, and reflect on the majesty, strength and holiness of God.
