Romans: Week 28
What does it look like to truly live as one body? Romans 14 and 15 pulls us into one of the most practical and searching questions the Christian life presents: how do we walk together when we do not see everything the same way? The passage draws a careful line between two dangerous extremes -- the rigid legalism that turns personal convictions into weapons, and the careless disregard for how our freedom affects those around us. The call is not to abandon our convictions, but to hold them with enough humility to ask whether they are building others up or tearing them down. The kingdom of God, we are reminded, is not ultimately about the debatable things -- it is about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. That reordering of priorities has the power to reshape how we treat the person sitting next to us, how we respond to disagreement within the church, and how clearly the gospel shines through our common life together.
