Romans: Week 14
This week's exploration of Romans 8 reminds us of a truth that can transform our entire perspective on life: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We journey through the profound reality that our salvation is not something we earned through good behavior or impressive spiritual résumés, but rather an unearned gift of grace. The message wrestles with one of Christianity's most beautiful mysteries—how God's sovereignty and our free will coexist perfectly in His divine plan. Before the universe existed, we were known, chosen, and loved, yet when we came to Christ, we did so freely. This isn't a contradiction but a divine paradox that should fill us with wonder. The sermon walks us through the reality that we live in a fallen world affected by entropy and decay, where creation itself groans for redemption. Yet even in our weakness, even when we don't know how to pray or what to ask for, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. This means we're never alone in our struggles, never abandoned in our confusion. The promise awaiting us is glorification—a future where suffering, sickness, and sadness are completely absent, replaced by the fullness of God's presence forever.
