Everyday Disciple-Makers

Jun 28, 2026    Pastor Josh Cervone

This week's message takes us into Deuteronomy 6, where Moses stands with Israel on the brink of the Promised Land, delivering his final words to a generation about to receive everything they never earned. The passage confronts us with a sobering truth: we are prone to forget. Just as Israel would soon enjoy cities they didn't build, vineyards they didn't plant, and wells they didn't dig, we have received the ultimate unearned gift in our salvation through Christ. The call is clear and urgent: we must intentionally weave our faith into every aspect of our lives, teaching our children about Jesus not just during designated devotional times, but when we sit at home, when we drive around town, when we put them to bed, and when we wake them up. This isn't about religious ritual but about authentic integration of faith into the rhythm of daily life. The message challenges us to become disciple-makers in our own homes first, recognizing that our children need to hear the stories of how God has worked in our lives. They need to know that the God who parted the Red Sea, who led with pillars of fire and cloud, who brought us out of our own Egypt, is still moving today. The question isn't whether we have time for this work, but whether we can afford not to make it our priority.
